Custom-fit magnetic thermal mats for the pop-up roof of the Westfalia Ford Nugget L2 (V710), model year 2025 onwards

Provides extreme insulation against both cold and heat; also dampens noise.
Insulation material with an aluminum facing and integrated sewn-in magnets.

The pop-up roof insulation consists of four sections that are attached to the roof using magnets and connected via Velcro fasteners. The front section can be partially rolled down for ventilation or removed entirely. As there may be slight variations in the height of individual pop-up roofs, the thermal mats are designed to be slightly oversized at the bottom; they can simply be folded over to prevent thermal bridges.

The included metal pads serve as anchor points for the thermal mats. These should be adhered to the rail at the top of the pop-up roof, spaced approximately 20 cm apart.

To ensure the pads adhere perfectly and permanently to the metal rail, please observe the following points during installation:

Thorough cleaning: The metal rail must be completely free of dust, grease, adhesive residue, or dirt. It is best to clean the surface using isopropanol.
Temperature considerations: For proper initial adhesion, most metal pads require an ambient temperature of between 15 °C and 25 °C. If it is too cold, the adhesive will not bond properly with the metal.
Contact pressure: The adhesive is activated by pressure. Once the metal pads are in place, press them firmly for at least 30 to 60 seconds.
Curing time: Do not subject the pads to any load immediately. Maximum final strength is often only reached after 24 hours.

Silver or black back?

The black outer fabric naturally heats up faster initially. However, the multi-layered insulation prevents the heat from penetrating and entering the interior. In the long run, both fabric options insulate equally well.

The crucial factor is preventing the greenhouse effect inside the vehicle. This is achieved by blocking sunlight, either through reflection (silver fabric) or complete blackout (black fabric).

Conclusion: For discreet camping, we recommend the black exterior. For vehicles exposed to direct sunlight for weeks at a time, the silver exterior is more suitable.
